Deep blue planet

2日程前、海外のサイトで話題になっていたものです。

ハッブル宇宙望遠鏡が初めて確認した太陽系外惑星の色が、地球そっくりな、美しい青色だという事が分かりました。

やはり天の川銀河以外の銀河系には、僕らと同じような環境が存在して、

僕らと同じような生活や文明を持った生物がいるのではないかと僕は想像した。

それは本当に夢のような発見です。

The Hubble Space Telescope has determined the true colour of an alien planet for the first time - a dazzling blue.

Astronomers using the NASA/ESA telescope said that the planet, known as HD 189733b, is a deep cobalt blue, much like Earth.

But that's where the similarities end. 

The planet is a huge gas giant orbiting very close to its host star and its atmosphere is scorching, with a temperature of over 1,000 degrees Celsius.

そう、類似点はコバルトブルーだけ。

地球は巨大なガス惑星で、また、その大気は摂氏1,000度以上の温度である。
